“ROUND TABLE MEETING” within the framework of the project “PREVENTION OF RISK FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION”
Trakya University Rector Project Coordination Implementation and Research Center and Black Sea Institute Association carried out the project titled “Prevention of Risks for Sustainable Development of the Region” under the INTERREG-IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-Border Cooperation Program was organized “Round Table Meeting” in Edirne on 16-17 April 2018. The meeting was attended by representatives from Burgas Black Sea Institute Institute, project lead partner, participants from Bulgaria Burgas Region and representatives of public institutions and organizations from Trakya University.
The meeting started with project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Emre ATILGAN’s opening speech. Then the meeting continued with the thanks speech of the project coordinator from Bulgaria. The first part of the meeting completed with the presentatitons of the Bulgarian experts about the ecological, technological risks and risks assessments and Turkish experts presentations about the risks of Edirne and Kırklareli.
In the second part of the meeting, Bulgarian and Turkish participants were divided into groups and a focus group study was carried out on the identification of the risks in the areas where they live and the possible solution proposal.
The director of Trakya University Project Coordination Implementation and Research Center and project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Emre ATILGAN said that with this project, the natural and man-made risks are determined in the Kırklareli and Edirne from Turkey and Bulgaria which has borders, possible solutions regions at risk in border regions thanks to an application will be prepared with recommendations will be shown on a map. The meeting was ended on 17 April 2018.
The project, which will last for 15 months, will end on 17.11.2018.
